Love, Baking and Birthdays

There’s something undeniably special about kitchens. Whether in our first homes, our grandparents’ houses or nestled into a charming corner of your Second Life, kitchens are the heart of it all. They’re where stories are shared, laughter is loudest and love is often expressed in the form of food and decadent smells.

For me, creating kitchen scenes in world is more than just setting the stage for decor, it’s deeply personal. One of my more recent photos, “Love, Baking and Birthdays,” captured not just a celebration of my birthday, but also a quiet tribute to the women who shaped me: my mom and both of my grandmothers.

These kitchen spaces I craft are always infused with a little bit of them. The more cluttered, the better—it’s not about the mess, but the comfort. The flour-dusted countertops, overflowing pans, and scattered ingredients… they bring me back to days spent baking carrot cakes with my mom or to the time we made donuts with my grandma, when she tried to patch the donut holes back into full donuts until we told her to try just frying up the donut holes themselves.

I may never be quite the baker they were (or are, Mom), but I carry their warmth and creativity with me into every kitchen I build in SL. Those sweet, simple memories of togetherness, of food shared and moments cherished, are what I hope come through in each scene.
