Salt Life

Who doesn’t love the beach? I suppose there are some, but I am not one of those. I love the summer and even the heat…as long as I have a pool or the ocean to cool off in. I don’t live anywhere near the ocean in the real world but in Second Life I am surrounded by beautiful water in shades of blue and turquoise.

When it comes to choosing a beach house in Second Life I think less is more and love a cute little beach cottage over a looming modern structure that doesn’t fit the lay of the land. Almost everything in my photos today is from {Old Barn Door} who has a huge selection of beach decor, furniture and cottages. Full disclosure, {Old Barn Door} is a sponsor of mine on my personal blog but that doesn’t change the fact that the designs are top notch! {Old Barn Door} has several new releases designed to work together but they are neutral in color so can be used with most any beach decor. They are also modify so you can color most everything to suit your needs.

The above photo features the newest cottage from {Old Barn Door}, the Coastal Beach Cottage. It is a lovely two room cottage perfect for those living on smaller beach parcels. Now let’s take a look at an interior shot for more new decor set releases.

Again, almost everything you see is included in one or the other of the newest sets; the Coastal Kitchen or the Coastal Bedroom Set. One of the things I love about {Old Barn Door}’s sets is that they are full sets including the main furniture pieces as well as the small details like lamps, rugs, plants and general clutter that adds so much to making a room feel like a home.

In addition to these new releases from {Old Barn Door} is the Elle Bamboo Basket Plant from Ariskea, the Anne Collection Book Bundle from KraftWork, Coastal Books and Octopus Figurine from Merak and Sea Side Coral Trinket Bottles from Vespertine. Now the beach is calling…go and find a bit of sand to call your own and have fun decorating!
